Built by King Anawrahta and completed by King Kyansittha in the 11th century, Shwezigon stands as a symbol of the early days of Theravada Buddhism in Myanmar.
The golden pagoda shines brilliantly under the sun, surrounded by peaceful shrines and pilgrims paying their respects.
It’s believed that Shwezigon enshrines a tooth relic of the Buddha, making it a deeply spiritual site for Buddhists across the country.
Walking around the platform during Thadingyut Festival, the pagoda glows with thousands of candles — a moment of beauty, faith, and peace. 🕯️✨
