Rimba was diagnosed with canine hip dysplasia and had to undergo FHO surgery (femoral head ostectomy surgery) on 1 March 21. I want to share Rimba's "almost failed" recovery from FHO surgery. 6 weeks after surgery, he was not using his operated leg at all. The key for his recovery is to make him use his operated leg to build muscle to make false joint. I need to use pain killer (rymadil) under vet supervision for about a month and take him for a walk everyday. While walking I push the leash down so that he uses his leg. It has been 5 months after surgery, he can run and walk up and down the stairs freely, but sometimes still not using his operated leg. Rimba's recovery is still on going journey and hopefully he will be fully recovered.
