Trinidad Rio, operates in a difficult area of calypso (humor), it's an amazing way he blends lyrics with political and social commentary.

Crystal Palace Calypso Tent on Nelson Street Port of Spain in 1935 had the first Female Calypsoian Lady Trinidad. In 1936 they added Lady Baldwin (Mavis Baldwin) and in 1937 Lady MacDonald (Doris MacDonald) join the cast.

In 1982 Spektakula Promotions extended their reach into the Calypso arena with the formation of Calypso Spektakula Tent, featuring some of the biggest names in industry. Spektakula Promotions was also able to successfully position Calypso in a number of markets outside of Trinidad and Tobago inclusive of Barbados, Antigua, Bermuda, St Lucia, New York and Toronto since 1986.
