The European Route of Ceramics is very proud to announce to be actively involved in the OTRart project, co-leading — together with Déchets d’Arts — the artistic direction of the residency in Italy, hosted in Faenza at the Museo Carlo Zauli 🇮🇹
OTRart project is an international initiative bringing together six artist duos to reflect on ecological transition through art and creativity.
In January, artist Valentina Canseco (FR/BR/CL) joined Elio Secondo (IT) for a 10-day artistic residency, working together on a new ceramic artwork.
The project uses clay collected from the mudslides that struck Emilia-Romagna in spring 2023, transforming it into an artwork that reflects on climate change, the increasing intensity of natural disasters, and the environmental impact of raw material extraction.
✨ The residency represents the final artistic phase of the OTRart project and highlights how ceramics can become a powerful medium to explore environmental and social challenges.
