He played a major role in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, carried out by 10 Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorists, killing 166 people. Rana helped the LeT in carrying out the Mumbai attacks. He is also an associate of 26/11 chief conspirator Pakistani-American terrorist David Coleman Headley.
