This possession is caused by the TIPM going bad on my 2008 Jeep Wrangler. It’s a very well known problem that Jeep is aware of but since it’s not a safety issue they will not fix it for us! It can pose safety issues and could cause a fire but it will cost you either way.
A TEMPORARY fix is to take both battery cables and zip tie them together. Then take the top of the fuse box off. Use a 13 mm socket to remove the power cable from the fuse box or TIPM. Then using the four tabs, squeeze them together and lift the unit straight up. Unplug each plug. After completing that, reinstall each plug. Install the equipment in reverse order. That can get me anywhere from a couple of hours to five days before it occurs again. Doing this can save you a tow bill.
I’ve since replaced the TIPM. All is good now!
Caution. If it starts becoming possessed like mine disconnect the battery as soon as you can. Once it drains the water from the windshield wiper reservoir it will burn up the pump. I had to replace mine because of this. I have another video on how to replace that.
