Is the Mach 1 the Mustang V8 you’ve been waiting for? Reawakening a badge first used on a Mustang in 1969 but dormant since 2004, the Mach 1 not only adds a bunch of interesting aesthetic cues to the current ‘Stang, but also bequeaths the coupe with a number of Shelby GT350 mechanical components.
Basically, the Mach 1 is designed to stay cooler for longer on track. The oil coolers, intake system and exhaust have all been optimised for more sustainable on-limit running. While you can option a ten-speed auto, the classic six-speed manual remains our choice, as tested here. But at $83,365, the 2021 Mach 1 isn’t cheap.
