Sofeast's NPI Process

Описание: In this video, Sofeast CEO Renaud Anjoran explains the 6-phase NPI process that we follow and have developed over the years when working with customers on bringing a variety of products to market.

Each phase is as follows:
➀ Defining specifications - Here we'll start to crystalize what the product does, how long it needs to last, compliance requirements, risks, product aesthetics, etc.

➁ Feasibility/proof of concept - The main risks we face, gathering information about materials, start exploring the BOM, get a cost estimate, proof of concept prototype, consider testing for performance and reliability, etc.

➂ Prototyping - Engineering design, procurement of materials and parts, and more. The goal is to make a looks alike and works alike prototype.

➃ Tooling - This is where we industrialize the product design. Tooling will probably be required, such as for plastic injection molding, so that investment needs to be managed. Then confirming that the first parts out of tooling are acceptable and assembling them into prototypes for reliability and compliance testing.

➄ Pre-production prep - Actions are taken to reduce the risk of delays, cost overruns, and quality problems. This includes defining assembly processes and work instructions, the quality plan, performing a pilot run, etc.

➅ Production - If everything has been validated after the pilot run, we can go into production. Now we order the materials, conduct product inspections, packing, shipping, and then receiving the products!
