The medieval castle theme of the Excalibur Hotel & Casino was designed based on old castle renderings. The design team visited castle sites in England and Germany for design inspiration and its design was inspired particularly by Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany.
Trademark experts were hired to avoid replicating the castle designs at Disneyland since Disney used the same German castle for design inspiration.
