Battery delaminates after 4 years. Wrong pouch cell installation without compression?

Описание: This was a bit of a shock, when I first discovered the gap between lid and box of this battery. Over a few days, this gap grew to a point, that the inner force of this battery popped the lid open. Of course, this is something we need to explore and investigate!
The Basen 12V/100Ah battery came to the Off-Grid Garage in 2021. Since the beginning, I was unable to top balance this battery correctly: cell #1 was always low, no matter what I tried. And, to make it even worse, the battery also emitted this sweet smell when it was charging. We all know where that was coming from... But, wait... there is more...
