In this behind-the-scenes look, we take you inside one of our most conceptually charged editorial shoots to date, a high fashion session set entirely inside a panel beater's workshop in one of the most visceral, unfiltered parts of the city.

The concept: The Finished Product amongst the Works in Progress.

A pristine black sequinned gown by Anna K placed deliberately against raw metal, grease, and machinery. The chaos of the workshop becomes the canvas. The contrast becomes the story. Transformation, mechanical and aesthetic, happening in the same breath.

We shot this in Johannesburg's CBD. Yes, one of the most dangerous cities in the world. We take the work seriously, but we never stop having fun doing it.

Featuring the extraordinary talent of models Fabienne and Danica, this shoot is a reminder that editorial fashion photography doesn't need a sterile studio. Sometimes the most compelling imagery lives in the places you'd least expect it.
