Motel History
The Pink Motel in Los Santos, San Andreas, was built by Diego and Camila Flores from Mexico in 1946. In the beginning it served as a transitional shelter for Mexican immigrants. In 1980, this motel was more or less forcibly taken over by a gang called Varrios Los Aztecas and renamed The Pink Cage Motel, it was in their hands for more than 20 years. During this long period, large scale drug deals, prostitution and human trafficking were conducted there. In 2005-2013, FIB was running undercover investigations against the Aztecas. When sufficient evidence was collected against the criminal gang, the Pink Cage Motel, where the Aztecas mostly stayed, was surrounded and stormed on a large scale by FIB special forces. Storming of the hotel resulted in deaths and injuries on both sides. Eventually, the FIB succeeded in arresting most of the high-ranking gang members and imprisoning them for life in the Federale prison. According to the FIB, some of the gang members who remained at large joined the Ballas Gang. As of 2014, when all FIB investigations were completed, officials turned the motel back over to Diego and Camila Flores. The motel name Pink Cage was kept, as a reminder of, the dark times.
