Delhi power tussle: L-G doesn’t have powers to interfere in functioning of elected govt, says SC

Описание: The Supreme Court has pronounced its much-awaited verdict on the control of administrative services in Delhi. In a unanimous verdict the Constitution bench has said that the elected government must have control over officers barring public order, Police and land. The bench has ruled that LG cannot have all encompassing administrative supervision over all issues relating to UT of Delhi and said LG's powers do not empower him to interfere with the legislative powers of the Delhi assembly and elected government. The verdict is being seen as a big win for Delhi government headed by CM Arvind Kejriwal.
