In today's video we test the actual capacity of the new 21700 cell based batteries. Cells were tested using a MiBoxer C2-4000, with a charge voltage of 4.2V, discharged to 3.0V, at a discharge rate of 1.5A. The PAPS 204 A1 and PAPS 208 A1 with 4 and 8 Ah nominal capacity tested to about 3.7Ah and 7.7Ah respectively, whilst the original PAP 20 B1 2Ah cell tested at 2.03Ah. This makes the average cell capacity of the 201700s 3.8Ah, so about 5% under specification. This is still a very acceptable capacity, and the more compact form factor certainly outweigh any minor undercapacity.
For running high current tools, the order of maximum power is: PAPS 208, PAP 20 A/B3. PAPS 204, PAP 20 A/B1. A double stack of 18650s will deliver more current than a single 21700. Keep that in mind when you're looking for maximum performance.
