On a recent overcast day out in the reserve Khanyisa kept warm with two fleece blankets and protected by the watchful eye of her loving allomother, fellow organ Kumbura.
Khanyisa reaps the benefits of having her own Carer as Last helps to break the hard branches for her to ensure she keeps feeding during the day while the bush is very dry. We will start moving into summer now and can’t wait till those rains fall!
Khanyisa follows after Lundi, keeping close to that gentle giant figure she has certainly imprinted on!
Watch Mambo grazing on the hard vegetation with ease by breaking branches with his trunk and pulling them over his one tusk! Ingenious! Mambo also uses his trunk to reach up to the taller branches in the tree, pulling them down with his strength!

Watch our dung collection process as our Carer Team collect the dung of each elephant to run checkups on the herd’s well-being! Samples of dung are retrieved and sent off to the lab!
