God’s presence is not something we beg for — it is something we recognize.
“I will never leave you nor forsake you.” — Hebrews 13:5
“Do you not know that you are the temple of the Holy Spirit?” — 1 Corinthians 6:19
Under the New Covenant, the Holy Spirit dwells within us. Awareness begins with believing that truth.
2️⃣ Draw Near to Him Intentionally
James 4:8 — “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”
How do we draw near?
Prayer (talking and listening)
Worship
Reading and meditating on Scripture
Repentance (removing what dulls our sensitivity)
Drawing near is an act of the will. Presence is relational.
3️⃣ Worship in Spirit and Truth
Jesus said in Gospel of John 4:23:
“The true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth…”
When we worship:
We shift our focus from ourselves to Him.
Our spiritual senses awaken.
The flesh quiets down.
Worship makes us aware because it realigns our heart with heaven.
4️⃣ Quiet the Noise
In 1 Kings 19, Elijah did not hear God in the wind, earthquake, or fire — but in a still small voice.
God often speaks in stillness.
Psalm 46:10 —
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
Silence and stillness increase awareness.
5️⃣ Obedience Increases Sensitivity
Jesus said in Gospel of John 14:21:
“He who has My commandments and keeps them… I will manifest Myself to him.”
Obedience sharpens awareness. Sin dulls it. Repentance restores it.
6️⃣ Pray for Spiritual Awareness
Paul prayed this in Ephesians 1:17–18:
“That the eyes of your understanding would be enlightened…”
Ask the Holy Spirit to open your spiritual eyes. Awareness is spiritual revelation.
7️⃣ Live in Continual Fellowship
In 1 Thessalonians 5:17:
“Pray without ceasing.”
This doesn’t mean nonstop talking — it means living with ongoing communion.
You can:
Whisper prayers throughout the day
Acknowledge Him in decisions
Thank Him constantly
Invite Him into ordinary moments
Proverbs 3:6:
“In all your ways acknowledge Him…”
Acknowledging Him increases awareness.
🔥 What Awareness Really Is
Becoming aware of God’s presence is:
Not chasing a feeling
Not emotional hype
Not waiting for a sign
It is:
Recognizing He is here
Yielding to the Holy Spirit
Living surrendered
Walking in reverence
Staying spiritually attentive

“Father, open my spiritual eyes. Quiet my flesh. Help me recognize You in every moment. Remove anything that dulls my sensitivity. Holy Spirit, make me tender to Your voice. Let me walk conscious of You daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
