This study explored how Angolan battlefield tours impact South African Defence Force (SADF) veterans' quality of life. Interviews with nine veterans revealed that visits to former battlefields provide closure, strengthen camaraderie, boost social and emotional well-being, and help address trauma such as PTSD. Most reported improved overall quality of life and social connections, showing battlefield tourism can play a valuable role in veterans' psychological healing and recovery.
