Brandon served in multiple wars across the globe and was the commander of the elite Fleet Anti-Terrorism Security Team Company in the PACOM AOR. Over the past 33 years while spending months at a time in over 90 countries, Mr. Wheeler has come to understand the cultural, political, and social intricacies of each region. His expertise is in counterinsurgency and unconventional warfare. In 2005, Mr. Wheeler started his extensive experience in the Middle East, living in Dubai as the manager of an Export Management Company handling a multi-million dollar account with clients throughout the Middle East and West Africa. In 2006, after living in Damascus, Syria and studying Arabic at the University, Mr. Wheeler was brought on to conduct a cultural and political study throughout the Kurdish areas of Rojava, Bakur, Bashur and Rojalat. After 4 months of traveling across the region, meeting with political, tribal and religious leaders, he ended his research and joined the United States Marine Corps. As an Officer in the United States Marine Corps, he served in Afghanistan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Italy, Portugal, Japan and was critical in NATO Operations Unified Protector, Operation Enduring Freedom and a number of other experiments in the United States Marine Corps that made national press. Since taking over the responsibilities as Executive Director of the Freedom Research Foundation, he has made multiple trips into Syria and Iraq meeting with political and military leaders in Rojava and Bashur in order to develop programs to defeat Islamic Fascism. Due to strategic decisions made in Washington, D.C. Mr. Wheeler and a select team deployed to Northeastern Syria and lived on the ground from October 2019 to February 2021. The work done on the ground and in Washington is highly regarded as critical to keeping US Forces supporting the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).
