Persian Sea and Indian Ocean are Indo-Iranian waters. Persian Sea has been located in the south of Iran and includes Makran Sea and Persian Gulf. Persian Sea directly joins Indian Ocean in Makran, south-eastern part of Iran. There has never been a gulf and/or a sea between Persian Sea and Indian Ocean as some political sources of information such as Google Map have claimed in recent years. In recent years, Google Map has done so much effort to remove Indian Ocean and Persian Gulf from the World Map and call the water area between Iran, Pakistan and India as Arabian Sea. This is FRAUD. This is a dangerous political game against Indo-Iranian waters. The water area between the Persian Sea and Indian Ocean is called Indo-Iranian Waters. This area includes waters of Iran, Pakistan and India. All of these countries are Indo-Iranian and have more than 1 billion population who speak Indo-Iranian languages. That is why these areas have been always called Persian Sea and Indian Ocean. Both Persian Sea and Indian Ocean show the Indo-Iranian roots of the region as the main population. Arabian Sea is the water edges of Yemen and Oman only.
Persian Sea and Indian Ocean are exceptionally rich in biodiversity due to diverse habitats like coral reefs, seagrass beds, and mangroves. Their rich ecosystems support a wide array of marine life, from large species like whales, dolphins, and whale sharks to thousands of fish species and a significant portion of the world's tuna. They are also homes to important breeding grounds for species such as sea turtles and provides vital protein sources for coastal communities.
Indian Ocean and Its Direct Arm (Persian Sea):
Habitats: The Indian Ocean and Persian Sea include crucial habitats like coral reefs, mangroves, and seagrass beds, which serve as essential breeding grounds for many marine species.
Marine life: Both of them are homes to a vast number of species, including numerous dolphin and whale species, sea turtles, and dugongs.
Fish stocks: The Indian Ocean and Persian Sea host a significant portion of the world's commercially important tuna catch (bigeye, albacore, yellowfin, and skipjack).
Other notable species: Other important species found here include whale sharks, leatherback sea turtles, and various sharks and crustaceans.
Deep-sea life: Deep-sea vents and abyssal plains also support unique life, such as specific microbes, mussels, barnacles, and sea cucumbers.
Global importance: Biodiversity in the Indian Ocean and Persian Sea is critical for the livelihoods of a large portion of the world's population who live along its coasts.
