After completing wisztom's anthology, now entered into the domain of Kaizos which were predominantly available in 2025 created by Virgin Snake on each retail level with normal as well as merciless mode. As of what you can expect by the name Kaizo, you could definitely encounter one shot killing stuff and no health or special powerups. The merciless mode would mean that the Kaizo will not have golden checkpoints even and requires a very clean deathless run to complete. Considering Temple to be already hard enough, its Kaizo is definitely expected to be harder with all those one shot killing fireshooters and floorspikes and luckily the geysers and lava hands deal only the normal damage.

However apart from the damage, there are even certain twists on the normal path and the important aspect of this Kaizo is that there is no single catnip powerup available and all the secrets have to be reached without them which is in fact possible at least for this level rather than retail (which might need Dynamite Jumps). As a result the first catnip area is instead converted to be a main path with warp leading above but however the secret area right after SP1 is reachable with running leap. Apart from that, the lengthy secret is also converted to be the main path while the elevators being lowered to reach from rope at the start of the secret. This ends up to be the hardest portion of the level especially the elevator ride encountering fireballs would be so difficult to dodge. But as we arrive at the fall just before SP2, Virgin Snake included a very mean twist where invisible one shot shooters instantly kill you if fall down by running and so needs a little leap before falling down. SP2 to End is comparatively simpler but the last secret which normally needs a catnip is now has to be reached by a running leap which ends up to be the trickiest secret. Otherwise the journey to boss warp is not that hard while you have a strange baiting area behind the secret behind boss warp leading to a non retreatable deadlock and serves as a troll to those who have bad intentions with female tigers apparently xd
But Omar serves to be the hardest one who normally is hard even in the retail and now each step has to be taken carefully considering to dodge the fireshooters as cleanly as possible while the lava mouths falling in doubles cause even more breaks to the speed and at the same time deal 10 HP damage. Another difficulty would be unavailability of special powerups resulting in having to manage Omar at the second phase with just 10 ammo and 5 magic.

Overall the run went surprisingly so clean and in fact even though I chose the normal mode as a precautionary measure, the run for sure qualifies to even beat the merciless mode of the same. Virgin Snake has ofc offered a tribute to the retail with the wrong coordinates tiger leading to missing ring, golbar and cross but that doesn't matter as it is anyway a perfect score ;)
