155mm T152E5 HEP (32.2kg HESH shell, 11.8kg Composition A-3) at 500 m/s
vs
120mm RHA at (~64° total ufp angle)
155mm T180 gun muzzle velocity (HESH) - 557m/s
(500m/s at ~0.5km)
calculation time ~140h
The simulation was performed for a specific impact point to show the significant influence of the explosive charge distribution across the armor plate on the effectiveness of HESH.
The result could also have been influenced by the discontinuity of the armor material (three plates were connected only at the weld point)
