Before coming to Christ, Ameer Gideon was an idol worshipper, bound by sin and spiritual darkness. Today, he is a pastor and church planter in Sri Lanka—sharing the hope of Jesus with hundreds of people across multiple communities.
After receiving a Bible from a Bible League–trained church planter, Ameer began reading God’s Word for himself. That seed of faith grew into a calling. Through Bible League’s Church Planter Training, Ameer gathered small Bible study groups that soon became thriving churches.
Today, Ameer’s ministry includes 3 churches, 5 cell groups, and more than 450 people who have come to faith in Christ. With limited resources and growing opposition, Ameer and others like him depend on Bibles and training to continue reaching Tamil, Sinhalese, and Muslim communities with the Gospel.
Sri Lanka is less than 8% Christian—but the hunger for hope is real.
