Randy Moore was a little-known American lounge crooner from Atlantic City, best remembered for taking deeply inappropriate subject matter and singing it like it was Shakespeare. Released in 1974, "Blumpkin Love" became an underground cult favorite thanks to its lush Barry Manilow-style production and completely straight-faced lyrics about a bathroom act so filthy nobody dared say what it was on the radio.

Moore allegedly heard the term from a drunk frat boy during a casino gig and thought it sounded “like some kind of vegetable.”

He was wrong - but that didn’t stop him from delivering one of the most absurdly romantic ballads of the decade.
