Bidadi Township Final Notification Issued! | 7,400+ Acres Acquired for India's 1st AI Smart City

The Karnataka Government has officially moved forward with the highly anticipated and controversial Greater Bengaluru Integrated Township (GBIT), popularly known as the Bidadi Township / Smart City project. Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar announced that a massive 7,481 acres across multiple villages in Ramanagara are being acquired, with the final notification deadline locked.

• Massive Scale: India’s first and largest Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered smart city spread over 7,400+ acres.
• Land Compensation: The government is offering up to ₹2.55 crore per acre (under the RFCTLARR Act) or a 60:40 land-pooling developed site option.
• Monthly Livelihood Support: For the first time, a monthly annuity of ₹25,000 to ₹50,000 will be paid to farmers from the final notification date until developed sites or cash are handed over.
• Future Blueprint: Includes an International Cricket Stadium, massive IT/Service Industry parks, and the total rejuvenation of the 1,000-acre Byramangala Lake.

⚠️ The Controversy:
Despite D.K. Shivakumar stating that 80% of landowners have agreed to part with their land, farmers from Byramangala, Kanchugaranahalli, and surrounding villages have crossed 430+ days of continuous protests. Meanwhile, Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy has fiercely opposed the land acquisition, labeling it "official real estate business".
