Considered one of the greatest head coaches in football history, he has set numerous coaching records, including the most Super Bowl victories by a head coach, having secured six titles with the New England Patriots. His coaching journey began in 1975 as an assistant with the Baltimore Colts before he became the defensive coordinator for the New York Giants in 1985. During his tenure with the Giants, he played a crucial role in securing two Super Bowl victories alongside Parcells. In 1991, he took on his first head coaching role with the Cleveland Browns, where he remained for five seasons. However, following the 1995 season, he was dismissed from his position. He then reunited with Parcells, first with the New England Patriots, where they reached Super Bowl XXXI, and later with the New York Jets. Initially named as the Jets' head coach, he resigned after just one day to accept the head coaching job with the Patriots on January 27, 2000. Under his leadership, the Patriots won 17 AFC East division titles, made 13 AFC Championship Game appearances, and played in nine Super Bowls, winning six. His record of eight Super Bowl wins, including his tenure as an assistant coach, remains the highest in NFL history. He also finished as a runner-up four times.
