The asset details of Rajya Sabha candidates from Odisha have come to light through affidavits submitted during the nomination process. The disclosures reveal significant differences in the wealth of candidates from different political parties.

According to the affidavit, Santrupt Misra, the candidate of Biju Janata Dal, owns assets worth around ₹512 crore, while his wife holds assets worth over ₹20 crore. His personal immovable assets are estimated at around ₹53 crore.

Independent candidate Dilip Ray has declared movable assets worth ₹391.62 crore and immovable assets worth about ₹45 crore.

Meanwhile, Manmohan Samal, candidate of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has declared ₹43 lakh in his name, while his wife owns assets worth ₹2.86 crore.

Another BJP candidate Sujit Kumar has movable assets worth about ₹3.85 crore, with his wife Swati Kumar holding assets worth over ₹1 crore, and his son owning assets worth ₹18 lakh. His immovable property is estimated at around ₹1 crore.

Common candidate Dr. Datteshwar Hota has declared movable assets worth around ₹5 crore, while his wife Dr. Sujata Pujari owns ₹2.71 crore in movable assets. His immovable assets are estimated at about ₹3.33 crore.

The disclosures provide voters with transparency about the financial background of candidates contesting the Rajya Sabha election.
