2. 108 Gopis have been mentioned in Vrindavan. The chanting of the names of these gopis along with 108 beads, which is called namajaap, is considered very sacred and auspicious. In Sri Vaishnavism, 108 divine regions of Vishnu are described which are called '108 Divyadesam'.

3. The Ganges River, which is considered very sacred in Hinduism, extends at a longitude of 12 degrees and a latitude of 9 degrees. If these two numbers are multiplied, then 108 marks are obtained.

4. The distance between the Earth and the Sun is 108 times the diameter of the Sun. Similarly the distance between the Earth and the Moon is also 108 times the diameter of the Moon.

5. It is said that there are total 108 emotions in a human being, out of which 36 feelings are related to our past, 36 are related to present and 36 are related to future. On the other hand, in Buddhism, human beings are also asked to develop 108 types of virtues and avoid 108 types of demerits.
