Dance Central 2 Battle "My Prerogative" (Hard) Choreographer Series!

The Nineties was an epic time for hip-hop music, and it's only expected that dance styles like New Jack Swing would get some attention when we're bringing up memories of dancing to tracks like Bobby Brown's "My Prerogative" or Bell Biv Devoe's "Poison". It's a wonderful thing then that Dance Central choreographer Devin Woolridge has completely tapped into showing off this classic style into his work for the game.

Those of us who were old enough to experience the boom of hip-hop in the 90s will instantly find Devin's moves familiar. Granted, we didn't always get the moves right, but New Jack Swing was a lot about attitude as well, and so long as you were feeling that part down in your gut, you at least got half the dance right.

(Of course, we have to discuss these moves within the context of a video game where your score is based on the correct placement of your limbs rather than how much you "stank" you're putting into your movements, in which case attitude is pretty much a moot discussion.)

In all, Devin is a phenomenal dancer (as evidenced by his appearance on America's Best Dance Crew) and an equally remarkable choreographer who is able to reference old school moves without making them feel idly repackaged and dated. Seriously, when has doing the cabbage patch failed to make you bust out a smile?
