Experts at the North West University say there is an immediate need to raise awareness about technology-facilitated gender-based violence and femicide (TFGBVF) and examine how digital platforms are exploited to perpetrate abuse and violence on victims.
They say South Africa's disturbingly high rates of gender-based violence (GBV) and femicide have been exacerbated by emerging threats in digital spaces.
