『 独裁者 - 最後の演説 - 』


【僕たちの想い・制作のきっかけ】

僕たちs**t kingzは、これまで活動してきた中で、
ダンスを通じてたくさんの世 界の人と触れ合い
国や人種を超えて繋がることによって、
様々な国にお仕事で呼んでいただきました。

振り返ると、このような経験や人との出会いこそが
自分たちの “ 今 “ を形成し、支えとなり、
大きな財産となっていることに気づきました。

現在もアメリカを中心に、世界中で起きている
Black Lives Matter運動を、ニュー スやSNSを通して知り
これまで出会った様々な国の人たち ( 仲間たち ) が、「差別」 や「違い」への
偏見などの問題に立ち向かい戦う姿を見て、
改めて自分たちの『差別』に対する考えと向き合いました。

Black Lives Matter 運動以外でも、新型コロナウィルスがもたらした混沌や差別の問題なども含め、
世界で起こる「自由と平等」の問題を目の当たりにしたときに
「s**t kingz という表現者としての考え」を、
しっかり世の中に表明すべきだと考えました。

【この作品(楽曲)を 選んだ理由】

そんな中でs**t kingzのチーム全員が尊敬している
世界的エンターテイナー、チャールズ・チャップリンの映画『The Greate Dictator』の最後のスピーチに出会いました。

長きに渡り、ノンバーバル ( 非言語 ) で
人々をハッピーにし続けてきたチャップリンが、
はじめて映画の台詞 ( 言葉 ) を通してメッセージを発信した、
その行動に感銘を受けました。

そんなチャップリンが、本作で訴えている
『自由・平等』の問題は、未だに解決される事なくあらゆる場所で様々な形で続いている。
だからこそ、時を超えて、
彼のその映画の1シーンの台詞に乗せて、
自分たちの表現 = ダンスで『自由・平等』を世界に訴えたいと思いました。

●What brought us to create this video
We have met so many people from all over the world through our work. The connections with those people beyond the nation and race led us to travel around the globe. We have realized that these experiences and the people we’ve met shaped us into who we are today and they’re our most valuable assets. There is so much going on in the world right now such as the Black Lives Matter movement and the chaos and discrimination brought by the pandemic. The problems associated with“Liberty and Justice”have been going around for a very long time in the world. As we witnessed people and our friends fighting against “discrimination” and the prejudice to "differences", we discussed our thoughts on this very sensitive matter. And we came to a conclusion that we should share our thoughts with the world.

●The reason why we chose this movie
We got to watch one of the greatest entertainers whom we have a huge respect for, Charlie Chaplin’s movie “The Great Dictator” during this time. He entertained so many generations by silent film, so the fact that he gave us a speech at the end of this movie inspired us so much.His stirring speech proposed “Liberty and Justice” for a better future. However sadly the same issues are still here decades later. So we created this video to call for “Liberty and Justice” in the world using the speech from “The Great Dictator”
