Thomas Headon likes to show love to the two cities that shaped him. Melbourne is where he grew up, and the 21-year-old glowingly recalls its “insane scene of alternative bands” that influenced his own left-of-center music. Conversely, London is both his birthplace and current home, not to mention, “the music capital of the world,” according to the singer. As much as he might feel like a small fish in its big pond, he’s starting to make his own waves in the grey-skied city. Channeling influences like The 1975, Rex Orange County, and Coldplay, Headon’s “Grace” and “Clean Me Up” introduced him in 2019 as an earnest artist unafraid of using a cute piano melody. When the pandemic hit, "I found an audience in lockdown,” says the man who took a shot at music because he “wasn’t good at anything else.” Fans flocked on TikTok and, to his surprise, Twitch - spaces where creativity was thriving. With things opening up lately, Headon is taking advantage. Audiences will get to see his special brand of lovesick tunes in person on a US/UK tour that starts in March.
