This was a 1994 VHS video of the 69 Chevy Custom 10 towing the travel trailer home from St Ignace, Mi., and the Straights area Antique Auto Show. The 260hp 350 was a total gas hog, oinking down a gallon of gas every 9 miles, even empty with a tail wind going down hill. That was the biggest complaint I had with this super nice over restored truck. It looked better than new! I completely striped the truck to it's bare frame, "restoring everything better than new". I did not rebuild the engine or the turbohydromatic 350 trans. but did reseal both.
This was a loaded truck for it's era. It had factory A/C, power steering and power brakes. It had full gauges, but lacked the factory tachometer. It was painted in it's original color combination, metallic olive green and white...two toned the way it was painted when it was new.
This truck was from North Little Rock, Arkansas, so it was a solid truck to start with. It had just over 100,000 miles when I restored it, and almost 200,000 when I sold it, around 1998 or 99. I did drive it a few years before restoring it... thats where the miles were put onto it.
This truck still looks as nice.
Saw the truck at a car cruise on 9-18-18 in Waterford, Mi. Here is a video I got of it... still looks like new; • 1969 Chevrolet Custom 10 truck I frame off...
This is the video with the 69 Chevy pick up cruising Woodward in 2016. • Cruising Woodward in 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air The truck is at 10:33 and at 10:50 in the video.
In this video • Some of the car restorations I did from th... you can see what the truck looked like before restoration at 10:35 in the video.
