the boiler/firebox are standard issue for all the Wilesco tractor/roller units, with a custom chassis for the Foden lorry.
Arrives with poor fitting roof (easy fix) just bend it to where you want it (carefully)
has a jack shaft (goes right through firebox) to reduce the drive speed.
Yes, the belt slippage is real & poor for anything but very flat services...down hill is better & with a tail wind is perfect.
week spot in the chassis, right behind cab , one thing I will firm up with a bit of bracing.
mostly nut & bolt construction which lends itself well to modifications & easy to strip body panels away from chassis.
Bed completely blocks site glass, goes on either direction though.
fuel tray (very) difficult to reach & put under boiler
plastic wheels & throttle handle
no whistle ,but has 5mm plug access for accessories such as... air supply, pressure gauge...ect
plastic pulleys.
the turning radius is OK, but the front tires will rub the fender when turned to far.
I think I'm going to get this gas kit from forest classics - "Bix 026 Ceramic Burner, Gas Tank & 135 mm Pipe Kit" , I believe the fuel tank will fit behind the steering wheel & it seams to have plenty of pipe.
Many mods are in store for this D310
Yes, I would buy this again , it is a handsome unit.
