Welcome to the Jam Station and this mini lesson series which looks at the turnaround on our recent Albert King style Blues backing track in C. Rather than follow a typical 12 bar Blues sequence, the turnaround moves backwards and forwards between the V and IV chords, G7 and F7. This gives us a great opportunity to integrate some dominant 7th arpeggios for these two adjacent chords and bring them into our Blues solos. This adds some fresh sounds beyond our typical minor pentatonic and Blues scale guitar licks! 🎸
This is the first of 3 videos in this series today so once you've watched this, liked and subscribed(!) make sure you head over to our YouTube channel to watch them all. And remember the tab for all of the given arpeggios is FREE on Patreon so you've no reason not to head over there, download it and then add this to this week's guitar practice! 🎶
If you're a guitarist or musician watching this on YouTube then you can tap the related link at the bottom of this video to go straight to the Albert King jam track and try these ideas yourself. And if practising ad-free and offline is your thing then you can support our work by buying the backing track on Bandcamp. Thank you! ✅
