1. Druk Wangyal Chortens 108 Stupas

These 108 memorial chortens were built by Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck in honor of Bhutanese soldiers who died in a 2003 military operation.

Arranged in a circular fashion on a hill, these stupas are a stunning symbol of peace and national unity.


2. Himalayan Views

On a clear day, you can see snow-capped peaks of the eastern Himalayas, including Gangkhar Puensum, the world’s highest unclimbed mountain.

The view is especially mesmerizing in winter November–February


3. Druk Wangyal Lhakhang Temple

Built in 2008, this temple commemorates the centenary of the Bhutanese monarchy.

Its architecture blends traditional Bhutanese art with modern elements, and it's known for unique murals depicting Bhutan’s modern history.

How to Reach Dochula Pass

From Thimphu: About 1-hour drive approx. 30 km

En route to Punakha, most tourists stop here for breakfast, sightseeing, and photography.

November to February for clear skies and snow views.

March to June for blooming rhododendrons and wildflowers.
