In December alone, only 87 new condos sold in Toronto, the slowest December in 30 years. 2025 was the worst year for new home sales since 1981 — even worse than the 1990s housing crash. Vancouver isn’t far behind, with developers now sitting on over 5,000 unsold pre-sale units, despite having less than half the population of Toronto.
