ഇതാണ് നോക്കിയയുടെ ഏറ്റവും വിചിത്ര ഫോൺ! 😲 Nokia 5510 – Looks Weird, Sounds Great!
The Nokia 5510, released in 2001, was one of Nokia’s most unique and experimental devices. Marketed with the slogan “Looks Weird, Sounds Great,” this phone was designed as a dedicated music-focused device at a time when digital music phones were rare.
The Nokia 5510 supported MP3 and AAC audio formats and featured a built-in graphic equalizer. It came with 64MB of internal storage, allowing users to store up to two hours of near-CD quality music. Songs could be transferred from a PC using Nokia’s Audio Manager software via USB. Users could also record music directly from external audio devices or from the built-in FM radio, which used the headset cable as an antenna.
The device featured an 84 × 48 pixel monochrome display and a distinctive QWERTY keyboard split on both sides of the screen. It was designed to be used in landscape orientation, with dedicated side buttons for quick access to the music player and FM radio.
Based on the core engine of the Nokia 3310, the 5510 offered reliable calling and messaging features. It supported SMS (including picture messaging and templates), WAP internet access via CSD and USSD, speed dialing, voice dialing, and stored up to 100 contacts in phone memory. It also included popular games like Snake II, Space Impact, Bumper, Bantumi, and Pairs II.
Despite being marketed as an entertainment device for younger users, its large size and relatively high price limited its commercial success. It was later succeeded by the Nokia 3300, another attempt at a music-centric phone.
In this video, we explore the full features, design, history, and legacy of the iconic Nokia 5510.
