The Orthodox Benedictine Monastery of Our Lady and St. Laurence is a monastic community of the Western Rite Vicariate of the Antiochian Orthodox Christian Archdiocese of North America, under the omophorion of His Grace, Bishop John, Vicar Bishop for the Western Rite.

Founded on Holy Cross Day, September 14, 2013, the monastery lives according to the venerable Rule of Saint Benedict of Nursia (d. 547 A.D.), the father of Western monasticism. The Rule is observed in a spirit of obedience, stability, and daily conversion of life (conversatio morum), and is adapted through the monastery's own Constitutions to harmonize faithfully with the fullness of the Orthodox Catholic Faith. The community serves under the spiritual leadership of Abbot Theodore, and was formally granted canonical status on July 16, 2015, by His Eminence, Metropolitan Joseph.

This monastic foundation represents a unique and prayerful expression of Western monastic tradition within the canonical bounds of the Orthodox Church. While Benedictine monasticism is most commonly associated with pre-Schism Western Christianity, its spiritual ethos—rooted in Scripture, liturgical prayer, manual labor, and communal charity—is profoundly Orthodox in spirit. The reintroduction and faithful observance of the Holy Rule of Saint Benedict within the Orthodox Church today testifies to the universality of Orthodox asceticism and the enduring sanctity of the Christian West before the Great Schism.

The Divine Office, daily Mass (Liturgy of St. Gregory), manual labor, sacred reading (lectio divina), and hospitality define the rhythm of life at Our Lady and St. Laurence. The monastery preserves the traditional Western liturgical rites—particularly the Gregorian (Tridentine) Use—within the Orthodox framework, nurturing a life of contemplation, penitence, and praise in continuity with the early monastic saints of both East and West.

By reclaiming and sanctifying this ancient way of life within Holy Orthodoxy, the monastery stands as a living witness to the rich liturgical and spiritual heritage of the undivided Church. It offers a beacon of continuity for those drawn to the Orthodox Catholic Church through the Western tradition, embodying the timeless Benedictine motto:
