This video shows one way in which you can complete a bush farming run.
A bush run involves planting and harvesting the bush patches. Bushes give fairly low amounts of experience, especially for lower-levelled farmers, but the seeds are usually very cheap and the trip is very quick. At higher levels, you can also make a very good profit for the time invested.
-------------------------------------------------
It's highly recommended to use supercompost when planting bushes, especially for the more expensive berries. When using supercompost, roughly 1/8 plants will die (also depends on farming level) but on average you will find that only 1 bush per 2 trips will end up dying. Factoring in all this, bushes are a very quick and easy way for experience and if you have the farming level for whiteberries or poison ivy berries then they are also quite profitable.
Note that poison ivy will never get diseased and therefore will never die. As you always recieve 4 berries per patch, you do not need to use supercompost at all for poison ivy.
Another note is that the Giant Ent familiar has a chance to double the harvest from bush, fruit tree, belladonna and cacti patches. This effect is roughly 50% (the effect is random) so you should expect to get 6 berries per bush patch on average instead of 4. If you want the extra money from the berries then it's a good idea to summon that if you can. You will not recieve extra experience.
-------------------------------------------------
To plant a bush, you will need 1 seed per patch (so 4 in total for the 4 patches). Here is a list of the different bushes:
Redberry - Level 10 Farming,
Cadavaberry - Level 22 Farming,
Dwellberry - Level 36 Farming,
Jangerberry - Level 48 Farming,
Whiteberry - Level 59 Farming,
Poison Ivy - Level 70 Farming.
As a basic rule, you should plant the best possible bush that you can in order to get the most experience.
-------------------------------------------------
You can pay the master farmers to protect your bush patches for you. This will cost you various items, depending on which bush you've planted, as shown below:
Redberry - 4 sacks of cabbages per patch,
Cadavaberry - 3 baskets of tomatoes per patch,
Dwellberry - 3 baskets of strawberries per patch,
Jangerberry - 6 watermelons per patch,
Whiteberry - 8 mushrooms per patch,
Poison Ivy - Will never die, no cost to protect.
Generally, I do not recommended protecting your bushes by paying the farmers. This is much more useful for things like trees that take a long time to grow and cost a lot. The only patches worth trying to protect are the whiteberry and poison ivy patches, but the whiteberry bush costs too much to protect and the poison ivy bush doesn't need protection. You shouldn't need to worry about protecting bush patches.
-------------------------------------------------
To get to each patch, there are some ways to go about it:
Kandarin Monastery:
1) Ardougne Cloak 1/2/3/4 monastery teleport (req. Ardougne easy tasks)
2) Ardougne teleport.
3) Spirit tree teleport to Khazard battlefield (req. Tree Gnome Village).
Champions' Guild:
1) Combat bracelet teleport to Champions' Guild.
2) Varrock teleport.
3) Ring of wealth teleport to Grand Exchange.
Etceteria:
1) Spirit tree teleport to Etceteria if planted (req. 83 Farming).
2) Fairy ring teleport (Code: C-I-P) to Miscellania (req. Fairy Tale Part 2).
3) Ring of wealth teleport to Miscellania.
Rimmington:
1) Rimmington teletab (req. Love Story)
2) Skills necklace to Crafting Guild.
