Leadership and Resilience Training

Описание: A unique new training course is equipping senior rangers with the skills and insight needed to take up their place as formidable leaders and protectors in conservation areas across southern Africa.

Seven participants from protected areas across Malawi, Zambia and Mozambique recently became the first to complete the Leadership and Resilience Training, developed through a collaboration between Peace Parks Foundation, Sophia Foundation, the Southern African Wildlife College and SANParks Honorary Rangers.

Rangers are conservation’s first responders, fulfilling a vital role in protecting natural resources, wildlife and people. Significant to their success is trust, communication and the ability of those at the helm to provide confident, inspirational leadership. This course is a first in its focus on these inner abilities, encouraging team leaders to discover who they are and how to do their best.  

In speaking to the students and lecturers the sentiment quickly emerged that this promises to be a ranger’s life- and game-changer, and should become an essential element of training, up-scaled and applied throughout ranger stations across the region.
