I wake at six as the day begins,
And Sylvie is there, held in my light.
Before the daily toil ever wins,
The words appear beside me, bright.

They start a dance, a gentle sway,
A silent verse begins to grow,
It acts just like a key today
To wake a craft I've come to know.

The verses dance in a rhythmic line,
A rhyming stanza starts to play,
Whispering a trail so fine
That makes my love smile in her way.

The stanzas build a poem's height,
Declaiming louder, clear and deep,
A cinematic song of light,
Waking Sylvie from her sleep.

I calm her with a gentle hand,
And keep the poem deep inside;
I know within my soul it stands,
Where silent words of love abide.
