Описание: The UK is facing its highest borrowing costs in nearly three decades as a sharp sell-off in government bonds pushes yields higher. Britain is preparing to sell a benchmark 2056 bond, with the yield potentially reaching its highest level for a gilt sale since the Debt Management Office was established in 1998.

The yield on outstanding 30-year UK government bonds has climbed to around 5.83%, adding pressure to government finances ahead of next month’s budget. Public sector net debt has risen above 94% of GDP, while the government spent £7.7 billion on debt interest in July alone.

The rise in borrowing costs comes amid wider global market pressure, including inflation concerns, government deficits and heavy corporate borrowing linked to the artificial intelligence boom.
