Описание: Things are finally progressing this spring. Trees are leafing out and results of our mid February prescribed fire is becoming very evident. The goal was to top kill as many of the trees in this old clear cut as possible. This area was clear cut around 6-8 years ago and has repopulated heavily with yellow poplar, which offers very little for the wildlife. I wanted to set back regeneration by getting sunlight to the ground. In the coming weeks that sunlight in the burned area will create a huge flush of growth at ground level while the adjoining unburned area will be shaded and result in very little structure or food in reach of the deer. More updates to come as the season progresses.
