HONESDALE, Pa. -- Residents and visitors to Wayne County have a brand-new place to float their boats. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC), county commissioners, and local volunteers cut the ribbon on the Indian Orchard River Access along the Lackawaxen River in Texas Township. The new access is designed for paddlers and serves as the midpoint of the 10-mile-long Lackawaxen River Trail from Honesdale to Hawley. Along with Indian Orchard, two other projects -- White Mills and Sycamore Point in Honesdale -- have been opened in the last three years in Wayne County. The three projects cost about a million dollars combined, funded through the PFBC’s Boating Facility Grant Program and local fundraising.
