Punjab New Car & Bike Registration Process 2026 | 3S Dealers Must Register Vehicles

Описание: In this exclusive Suno News interview, I explain an important reform introduced by the Government of Punjab through the Finance Bill 2026-27. The Punjab Government has amended the Punjab Motor Vehicle Transaction Licensee Act, 2015, bringing a major change to the car new registration process in Punjab and the motorcycle (bike) new registration process in Punjab. Under the amended law, every authorized 3S Dealer (Sales, Service & Spare Parts Dealer) is now legally bound to obtain a Vehicle Registration License from the Excise, Taxation & Narcotics Control Department. After obtaining the license, dealers will not be allowed to deliver any new car or motorcycle to its owner unless it has been duly registered and fitted with the prescribed registration number plates.
The amended law also authorizes licensed 3S dealers to work as collection agents for the Government of Punjab. They will collect the applicable registration fee, motor vehicle taxes, and other prescribed government dues from vehicle purchasers and deposit these amounts into the Government Treasury.
