South Korea's ruling Democratic Party and the main opposition People Power Party have agreed to pass a supplementary budget to be used for a fourth round of COVID-19 emergency relief.
A lawmaker from the ruling party told reporters after Wednesday's meeting between rival pary floor leaders- that they reached a deal after adjusting certain parts of the budget.
The amount agreed upon is the same as what the Democratic Party initially proposed,...clocking in at more than 13 billion U.S. dollars.
But the amount set aside for employment measures has been shifted to give more funds to the most vulnerable, including farmers.
The bill will be passed during a plenary session that starts at 8AM, Korea time.
