About The Sages of Future Soul

The Sages of Future Soul are a 20+ piece remote recording big band that performs arrangements of the modern jazz, funk and soul arrangements. Led by co-founders Shawn W. Davern and Joseph Nichols, the ensemble made their live debut in August 2022 at Clementine Cafe in Harrisonburg, Virginia and was later named Semi-Finalists in the 2023 Petrichor Music Competition Large Ensemble Division. The Sages of Future Soul recordings have featured artists such as Alexa Tarantino, Justin Kauflin, and Chloe Swindler as well as garnered praise from members of Grammy nominated bands Moonchild and Hiatus Kaiyote. The ensemble looks forward to releasing their first commercial album entitled "Live at Clementine Cafe" later in 2023.
