Abloy Sentry Picked & Gutted

The Abloy Sentry has 12 disks in total:
4 rear disks with known bitting that need to be rotated to a known position
7 "active" disks the bitting of which is unknown and must be determined
1 front disk for profile control that is connected to the "disk steering system"
In this lock, the front disk can be used for tensioning.

The main difference between the Abloy Sentry and the other locks picked so far in this series is the "disk steering system", essentially a split metal plate that extends vertically through the entire keyway and significantly restricts the freedom of movement of the picking tool.
Furthermore, the possible thickness of the picking tip is limited to a maximum of 1 mm by the front plate. Additionally, the inner profile of the last two disks is slightly narrower than that of the other disks to check the key profile, but this has only little impact on the picking process.

Due to the unique design of the front plate and the "disk steering system," I had to create another custom picking tool. My first attempt involved using an ejector pin with a 1 mm shaft, but this proved insufficiently stable. The solution was to silver solder a piece of sheet metal to a 1 mm wire and file it to shape. The tensioner is made from a piece of brass tubing, which was also filed to shape.
Both picking tip and tensioner fit perfectly into the handle from RWB custom picks.

The Abloy Sentry is ranked black in the LPU belt ranking system.
