From Earth we can see far into the universe. To get the clearest possible view, our telescopes must be located in a very dark place. That’s why ANU astronomers go to Siding Spring Observatory. Here, perched on a dormant volcano in the Warrumbungle National Park, they have access to some of the darkest skies in the Southern Hemisphere. In this video, hear about what they do there.
ANU Science On Location tells the stories of ANU researchers who have conducted long-term research in diverse locations across Australia. For more stories like this, visit ANU Science On Location.
