In this episode of The Design & Remodel Channel, we tour a space seven years in the making — a powerful community rebuild that rose from the ashes after a devastating fire: Building Twentyone.
What started as a skate park renovation turned into a full reimagining of what a youth and family space could be. From the light-filled great room and cozy café to creative studios, a loft with a fireplace, and a full Ninja Warrior–style training gym — every part of this building was intentionally designed to feel like home.
This isn’t just an event center. It’s a place where students can hang out after school, build healthy relationships, explore creativity through art, 3D printing, podcasting, photography, cooking, and more — and push themselves physically in a scalable Ninja training space inspired by American Ninja Warrior.
You’ll hear the story behind:
✅ The original fire that destroyed the building
✅ Why this space was designed for youth and families
✅ How intentional design shapes behavior, connection, and confidence
✅ The creation lab (“the nook”) for hands-on learning
✅ The Ninja gym with warp walls, climbing systems, and interchangeable obstacles
✅ Why community-centered spaces matter now more than ever
This project isn’t about trends or flashy finishes. It’s about rebuilding something meaningful — and creating a place where young people can belong, grow, and thrive.
